Set up your Bitcoin wallet

1

Install Virtex Wallet

Download the app from Google Play and create a new wallet or import an existing recovery phrase.

2

Back up your recovery phrase

In non-custodial mode, write it down and keep it offline. See what is a seed phrase.

3

Find your Bitcoin address

Open BTC and tap Receive. Share the address or QR code.

4

Add BTC

Buy BTC in the app, swap into it, or withdraw from an exchange on the Bitcoin network.

Bitcoin transactions are final. Double-check the address before sending, and only send BTC on the Bitcoin network. Wrapped BTC on other chains is a different asset. Blockchain transactions can't be reversed. This page is general information, not financial advice.

Bitcoin wallet questions

What is a Bitcoin wallet?

A wallet that holds the keys to your BTC on the Bitcoin blockchain. It lets you receive BTC to an address and sign transactions to send it.

Can I stake Bitcoin in Virtex Wallet?

No. Bitcoin uses proof of work, not proof of stake, so BTC can't be natively staked. You can stake SOL, ETH, TRX and BNB on the crypto staking page.

Can I swap BTC to USDT in the app?

Yes, where a swap provider can quote the pair. The app shows the rate, fees and minimum before you confirm. See how to swap BTC to USDT.

How long does a Bitcoin transfer take?

It depends on network demand and the fee paid. Many exchanges wait for several confirmations before crediting a deposit.

Is Virtex Wallet custodial or non-custodial?

Both. Non-custodial mode means only you hold the keys. Custodial mode lets Virtex hold them for easier recovery. Custodial mode is not available in the EEA, the UK or the United States.
