Staking lets coins that would otherwise sit idle help secure a proof-of-stake blockchain, and earn rewards for it. With Virtex Wallet you can stake Solana, Ethereum, Tron and BNB straight from the app, without moving your coins to an exchange.
Choose non-custodial staking to delegate on-chain from your own keys, or custodial staking if you'd rather Virtex handle it for you. Before you confirm, the app shows the estimated rewards, the validator's commission and how long unstaking takes.
| Coin | How staking works | Good to know | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solana (SOL) | Delegate SOL to a validator through a stake account | Stake activates at the next epoch (roughly 2–3 days) | How to stake Solana |
| Ethereum (ETH) | Stake any amount through a staking provider, no 32 ETH needed | Ethereum network fees can be high at busy times | How to stake ETH |
| Tron (TRX) | Stake TRX for Energy or Bandwidth, then vote for Super Representatives to earn rewards | Energy makes USDT TRC20 transfers cheaper; unstaking takes 14 days | How to stake TRX |
| BNB (BNB Smart Chain) | Delegate BNB to a validator on BNB Smart Chain | Keep a little BNB unstaked to pay network fees | How to stake BNB |
Other EVM proof-of-stake networks are supported where available in the app. Bitcoin does not use proof of stake, so BTC can't be natively staked.
You delegate on-chain from your own keys. The validator can never spend your coins, and you can check your stake and rewards yourself on a public block explorer. Best if you want full control.
Virtex stakes for you through pooled staking and credits rewards to your account. No validator to pick and nothing to manage. Not available in the EEA, the UK or the United States.
Get the app free from Google Play, then create a new wallet or import one you already have.
In non-custodial mode, write your recovery phrase down and keep it offline. See what is a seed phrase.
Buy it in the app or send it from an exchange. Here's how to move crypto from an exchange.
Choose a validator or the recommended option and enter an amount. Leave a little of the coin unstaked for network fees.
Check the estimated rewards, commission and unstaking period, then confirm. Track your rewards in the app.
Solana (SOL), Ethereum (ETH), Tron (TRX) and BNB on BNB Smart Chain, plus other EVM proof-of-stake networks where available in the app. Bitcoin does not use proof of stake, so BTC cannot be natively staked.
Not in non-custodial mode. You delegate on-chain from your own keys, the validator cannot spend your coins, and your stake is visible on public block explorers. In custodial mode Virtex stakes on your behalf, which is simpler but means trusting Virtex with the funds.
Rewards depend on the network, the validator's commission and network conditions, and they change over time. Virtex Wallet shows the estimated rewards, commission and unstaking period before you confirm. Rewards are paid in the staked coin, so their value in dollars moves with the price. See APY vs APR explained.
You can request to unstake at any time, but most networks have an unbonding period before coins become spendable again. The length depends on the network and is shown in the app before you stake.
Native staking from your own wallet removes the biggest risk, which is handing your coins to a third party. Remaining risks are price drops, lock-up periods, validator penalties (slashing) on some networks and, for custodial staking, the provider itself. More in is crypto staking safe?
